Woodstock Bikeworks Cycling Team

Welcome to Woodstock Bikeworks Cycling Team.  Ontario Cycling Association affiliated Private Race Team.

My plan with this team is to assist and organizing local riders who have shown an interest in Woodstock Bikeworks, support our local clubs and participate at the local / regional / provincial levels.

The roster is open for up to 20 members, residing within the region of Oxford County and City of London.  Currently, we have seven participating in Road, CX, Gravel, MTB and Relay.  All levels welcome from organised club riders to O-Cup Experts.

What you’ll need:

OCA Race License

Once accepted you can register for your 2022 OCA Race License and select Woodstock Bikeworks Cycling Team as your Membership Affiliation (Club / Team).

New for this year is the ($90) Provincial Race License that is replacing the old “Citizen” license and allow you to participate in all sanctioned regional and provincial races or events.  It will also cover you for insurance coverage built into the membership fees of many OCA affiliated clubs, such as LCW or Forest City Velodrome.  Woodstock Cycling Club "the Pines" is not an OCA affiliated club so you’ll still have their full $35 membership fee to join.

If you are planning to race Nationals or out of country, you’ll require the ($190) UCI license.

I’m planning to register for a Provincial Race License and upgrade later if I need to.

Team kit

The official OCA team kit is similar to the previous Woodstock Bikeworks black / green jersey and bibs with additional Speedpro sponsorship logo and Lazer / Shimano Pro / Rockymounts product logos.  Order as many as you require.  It has reached final stage of design with Louis Garneau Custom.  There is also a second identical team jersey available with white body panels for really hot, sunny summer days when all black can be a bit much.

Additional team clothing includes Louis Garneau neck gaiter, arm/knee warmers.

The official team helmet is any model black Shimano Pro Lazer.  Majority of team interest has been in the Z1 MIPS.

March Break Training Camp

I am able to head south for March Break riding this year if Covid and border restrictions are reasonable.  The simplest way to do that and support one of our local clubs is join the London Centennial Wheels South Carolina Training Camp based at The Rock Golf Club and Resort in Pickens, SC.  Details are available at LCW.ca  Hope to see you there!
